Toddler Tuesday at Oatland Island Wildlife Center Savannah

711 Sandtown Road

Savannah, GA 31410

Oatland Island was once a part of a cotton plantation on an island used for farmland. Now, it serves as a wildlife center, and is owned by the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. It was renovated in 2009 and reopened in 2011, and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2024. Toddlers Tuesdays at Oatland Island Wildlife Center is a program geared toward Savannah kids ages 1-4 years old and focuses on a specific animal or nature theme. The program meets at the picnic pavilion and includes signing, finger play, stories, and encounters with furry friends. Sometimes the program includes visiting an exhibit, so be sure to dress appropriately and bring a stroller. This toddler program meets at two time slots every Tuesday, and is free for FOO (Friends of Oatland) members.

Savannah Children’s Museum is located on the west side of Savannah’s downtown area, and is a great place for families of toddlers to explore and play. The museum is fully outdoors, within the former Central of Georgia Railway repair facility, next to Georgia State Railroad Museum.
